    I bought a Glock 29 today. Lol.... I'm biased. Now I have a Glock 40 and a 29. I'm a big time 10mm Glock fan

Just reading the thread about the Glock Gen 5 10mm. I am looking for a new or used 10mm used to have one years ago a Glock 20 I picked up at a gun show. Wanting another one. I see S&W, Springfield and Glock there or pros and cons about each brand. What would you get and why.
I got to run a SA xdm. I really liked it.

I have a G20sf that I purchased before Glock offered the MOS. I'd recommend the G5 MOS if you plan on using it for any handgun hunting.
The CMMG 10mm Banshee is accurate, fun and easy to shoot with the rotary delayed bolt.

STI perfect 10. Hi cap. 6 inch in a 2011 frame. light and a laser on it. With the bigger grip, longer barrel and frame and the weight on the end, it is a pleasure to shoot real full power 10mm loads compared to a 10mm in a 5 inch gov't 1911. Have both. Both are very accurate, but it is much easier to shoot the 2011 accurately.

I have an older G20 that's my favorite pistol. But I also have an RIA 1911 10MM that's a really great gun to shoot. It's pretty heavy so it doesn't jump around. It gets good reviews as a "budget" 1911. It's one of my don't sell guns.

I've had a few 10MM's over the years starting with my 1st one in 1992 when Glock first brought out the G20.
My last acquisiton is my new favorite, a S&W M&P 2.0 10mm 4.6" barrel. I've had 10MM in Sig P220, Kimber 1911, Glock 20, Springfield XDM , Ruger 1911, Ruger GP100 Match Champion. Liked them all but settled on my S&W M&P and 610 revolver.
I shoot 41 Magnum also and loads for it start at the point where the 10MM stops. The 10MM Magnum will duplicate full power 41 Magnum loads. Underwood 41 Magnum 210gr loads will do 1560fps with 1135 ft.lbs of energy out of a handgun.

I have both the most recent S&W M&P 2.0 4.6” and the non-Elite Springfield XDM 5.25”. Both are good guns. But, if I had to pick one it would my 5.25” XDM. Very consistently accurate. With Talon granulate grip tape and the shape of the grip I feel like have serious control over the gun during recoil. Mount one of my lights on it and the recoil is even MORE controllable. And, with the blacked out rear sight and the fiber optic front sight, it makes picking up the front sight much quicker.

I have read that the early Smiths like the Model 1076 are the only 10mm made that can handle a steady diet of full power 10mm loads. You have to hand load to get them to that level and most commercial ammo is under loaded. So if you hand load I would look for an early Smith in 10mm.
I have a bunch of 10mm (G29, Colts, Ruger GP100, had a G20 that I sold) and concur that the Smiths are nice, I have a S&W 1006. Be aware than mags are obsolete, elusive and expensive: I bought out the parts on hand at Numrich to build my mags.

If I could have only one it would probably be a Colt Delta Elite.

As you've heard, 10mm is definitely a great reloading caliber: it's easy to tailor loads from mild to wild. That's where the caliber shines and it's easy to tailor loads to each firearm.

I'd wait until the S&W M&P Metal releases the 10mm variant. I am a Glock, Sig, and CZ shooter but there is something about the M&P Metal that is just flat out nice.

If that new Performance Center 10mm they released was on the Metal frame, i'd already have one. No other handgun has even made me interested in 10mm.

Back in the early 90's Glock built the G20 to handle the full house 10mm loads. Then they made the G21 in .45ACP using the same frame as the G20. They did not take a .45 and adapt it to 10mm.

Honestly a Glock is probably your most reliable option for 10.

I like my RIA 1911 best, although it’s a single stack. I’m currently looking for the new double stack. I prefer the Glock for woods carry though.
I've shot one of those and loved it! I would get one, but cost of shooting a 10mm vs 45acp or 9mm is higher and I'm more of a shooter vs collector. But I would like to get one someday anyway.
