    I have two revolvers:
Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt single action
    Ruger SP101 5-shot .357

I have tried to read through the different organizations match/handgun rules and regs. Am I correct to assume that I will need a six-shot DA revolver for most practical shooting matches?

Aside from Cowboy shooting, are there matches/classes for single action?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

You can shoot your SA, but your really gonna want a DA by the end of the first stage. ;)

The is no division for SA revolvers in either USPSA, IDPA or ICORE. CAS would be fun, but you have get all the western garb. :(

Try to find yourself a S&W K or N frame, used, they are still pretty cheap. A decent holster, a few speed loaders/moon clips and come join the fun.

Thanks dmiculek - I looked at some of the stages set up in Thibodeaux for their matches and noticed that it does all cover 6 shots and a reload. I have been planning on a larger DA revolver ... may have to up the timeline for some fun.
