I see people wanting to put for grips on their dracos.

I was curious as to know if the for grip/mag holder
would be considered a forgrip if they did not say
forgrip in the details or if the finger groves were not
there and it was just straight.

And if that is the case, then if I put a flashlight or a
laser in the same place,I could technically use it as
    a forgrip?

So would this be considered a forgrip, since it is not
on the for end and is attached to the magwell?

I was just curious.I have a couple of plr 16s and
they suck trying to hold them from climbing.

I was thinking of putting the magwell cover on them
,just for support.Would that be wrong and
    illegal?

Really? SO a part that just came out for sale about 2-3 months ago
has already been written down for law.Or discussed multiple times.

Your saying this was discussed here.Could you please direct me to
    thread.

    Thanks

I know the magwell grip has been around a while, as far as your question goes I can not provide any information, I would be curious to know as well.

I had wanted to put one of those exact grips on my AR- pistol that I built. I was advised by several people that doing so would be a very bad idea.

Which grip? The forgrip/mag or the magwell grip.

To me the magwell grip isn't really being used as a forgrip per say.
Because you can hold your hand on the magwell without it.

Were those people associated with the atf or they just assuming
by what they have read or heard?

This was a magwell grip, the exact one as above. I ended up just putting it on one of my full length AR's. These were people on message forums who had advised me not to put it on. If it would have been more inportant to me I probably would have done my own research on the subject.

NOW that is what I'm talkin about..Finally,some one that has the answer.I'm not sure why everyone is
always so afraid to answer these sort of questions.Everyone wants to know, most are just to afraid to
ask ,because of the fear of being ridiculed by others.Sad really. These are things that should be discussed.
Every day on this forum,I see people asking some pretty dumb questions,Like I'm buying my first AR,what
lower do I use.Holy crap. There is only 4000 different brands of lowers. That is like asking what 1911 should
    I buy.You obviously will get 400 different answers.Because 400 people have 400 different opinions.I can
read laws just as well as any one else, but understanding those laws are sometimes a little more difficult for
the common person.I am no attorney and do not read latin lol..Anyway,rant off,I just would like to see a
little more sympathy to any one asking questions of this sort.I realize it may have been talked about before,
but so has I'm buying my first rifle bla bla.Everyone that joins the forum is new at one time. Each question
should be the same, none ridiculed.I see people taking the time to ridicule others over their questions, but yet
in the time it took to ridicule them, they could have used that time to answer the question and if they don't
know, then don't say anything.I'm just saying we were all new to guns and forums at one time.Everyone
deserves the same respect, unless you act a fool.then Ridicule away lol..

But now we have an official letter from the BATF allowing us to add this device to our ar pistols and plr 16s
and anything else we want to put it on..Wahoooo. Thanks Swami for taking the time out of your day to help
us clear this up..AWSUMMMMM man !!!!
