I read on another forum of using an inexpensive endoscope as a borescope, and considering the price was $8.99 on eBay I had to try it for myself. The search term is for Android and PC Endoscope, and here is the one I bought

Clarity is unreal, has 6 LEDs that are variable in intensity to light up the subject. Fits easily into a .22 bore and has a right angle adapter. I'm using on a computer rather than a phone and having a 15 inch display is a plus. I can think of all kinds of uses for this - inspecting AR15 and M14 gas ports, looking for carbon rings, verifying cleaning, looking for cracks or crazing, or even examining down in a spark plug hole on an engine.
