Looking for a local place to purchase a few Boonie hats. I have checked sinclairs and academy. Anybody have any suggestions?

Try the Army surplus store in Gonzales...bought a few of them a few years ago. Don't know what the name is exactly but should be easy to find in the yellow pages.

Yeah, that's who I'd try, too..Pretty sure the name of it is Army Depot, and the number is (225) 647-2336.....He's on N. Burnside (LA 44) just off Airline on the left....

They sure did the last time I was down there- although it's been a couple of years. I was hunting up some BDU pants, though- and there was a really good supply. He had a lot of stuff crammed in there...:)

And yes- Sgt Surplus is now on Denham Rd. in Central...

You know, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure he is open Thurs-Sat.....I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing that on his sign.

DO NOT GET ONE AT BASS PRO. I did, I was in a rush and wanted to just make one trip. It's a bit thicker and hot as all hell. It's a bit more comfortable, but the extra padding/softness just retains the heat.

Bought some today from SGT Surplus. They didn't have a large selection of camo ones but I was able to find what I needed. I even found my son an original Vietnam era OD one that was actually made in California out of poplin blend
