Why buy a lifetime, for seniors it's only $5 per year.

Yep, $5 a year gets you a 3 foot long set of licenses
Why buy a Senior Lifetime License?
Because it makes sense to. Why would you not buy one. It's only $50. If you think that buying a $5 license every year makes sense, then you are betting that you won't live past 70 years old. Plus, if you get the lifetime license, you don't have to go and buy a license every year. My wife and I each have a lifetime license.
Next time you renew your driver’s license at the Office of Motor Vehicles, you can add a Lifetime Hunting, Lifetime Fishing, Lifetime Combination, Boater Education, and/or Hunter Education endorsement to your license for free. If you have one or more of these endorsements, you do not have to carry the applicable license or certification card with you as long as you have your driver’s license.
I plan (fingers crossed!) on living for more than ten more years - anything over ten and I'm ahead of the annual $5/year Resident Senior Combo Hunt/Fish price. Also, I found out a Louisiana Resident Lifetime Hunting/Fishing License is honored by Texas -- at least for the Fishing part, no such luck for the hunting.
As stated it’s by mail or the Baton Rouge main office. I suggest you can just collect the required documents and drive there and pay and get it over with. That’s what I did.
Also once in hand the next time you get a new drivers license have the DMV add the endorsement to your drivers license. Then you can leave your hunting license at home.
