Nolacop, is your analytical brain working on the "in" and "on" thing yet?

ASk any of the 200+ CHP holder with my certificates..."we have been down that road." LOL.

Seriously, we discuss that kind of stuff in my blow hard classes a lot.

"THERE ARE NO DEFINITES, FINALITIES, ABOSLUTES, BLACK AND WHITES, AND CLEAR CUT ANSWERS WHEN YOU START YOU QUESTION WITH --"legally speaking"

Too many here have yet to accept that as a reality. the law is written by man, interpreted by other men, who argue man against man, and then 12 other men decide. It is a pitre dish of opportunity for chaos and injustice.

"i ain't saying it is right, I am just saying it is reality"

There's only one way to settle this. Since we can possess weapons contained entirely in our vehicles-even on school property- the only way I see to solve our dilemma is to call for your local Catholic Diocese to authorize the first-ever drive-in Catholic Church.

    It's time, people.

If my truck isn't in contact with the roadway, am I speeding "on" the highway? :D

But you'll be "on" church property... :D

So you're saying that I can drive my car into and right up to the alter of my church, roll down the window and receive Communion? I think my Honda Fit will make it through the double doors, down the main aisle and right up to the front...and I can bring my gun too!

    Hotdog, I'm going for it!

That's my point -- or question. No sign was needed under old law because it was clearly prohibited. But with the new law, a CC holder will not know which churches it is allowed in or not, unless a sign is posted.

IF I read the law correctly, and IANAL, you will need Permission from the church to carry in the church so, again, no sign is needed as it will still be illegal for you to concealed carry there without A) having the new permit/training AND B) the permission of THAT church.

This is from the article in the OP:

"""Burns' initial proposal was rejected, but state Sen. Joe McPherson, D-Woodworth, attached similar legislation onto a separate bill dealing with handgun permits in the final days of the nearly three-month session.

"A lot of churches have security already," McPherson said Monday.

"This just allows them to use their members that have concealed carry permits as part of their security," he said. """

NO NO NO!!! It's NOT about using members as part of their security!

It's about our God-given right to self-protection!!! Which the Constitution recognizes and "constitutes" our government to protect!

We have the right to defend ourselves in like manner to the way we are being attacked. A common means of attack is with a gun, therefore, a common means of defense must be a gun.

It is so simple that it blinds people.

Does this sound like a sufficient description of the bill for the fb page?

House Bill 1272 was recently passed into law during the 2010 regular legislative session, which allows for the concealed carry of a firearm within places of worship provided that the individual take an additional training class, receive permission from the controlling authority of the place of worship, and the congregation is informed of the decision.

The entity which owns the business or has authority over the administration of a church, synagogue, or mosque shall have the authority to authorize any person issued a valid concealed handgun permit as authorized by the provisions of this Section to carry a concealed handgun in the church, synagogue, or mosque.

I got it! GOD has the ultimate authority over the administration of my church!

I'll get the "tactical training", such as it is...or isn't defined by law.

Then I'll see if God authorizes me to CC in church.

You'll have to grab and squeeze my groin to find out if I'm CCing....I DARE YOU! :D

I'm still confused why you church goers even needing guns. I mean, if you get shot and killed, isn't it just god's will? And by trying to defend yourselves, you're defying god's will!

    That's how this works, right?

Some actually believe that and I know one personally but their right not to choose to carry a gun doesn't trump my right to carry one.

Here's the whole information part of the page. Sound alright?

House Bill 1272 was recently passed into law during the 2010 regular legislative session, which allows for the concealed carry of a firearm within places of worship provided that the individual take an additional training class, receive permission from the controlling authority of the place of worship, and the congregation is informed of the decision. However, the Louisiana Catholic bishops have decided to ban concealed handguns within Catholic churches. Their decision violates the God-given rights of life and self defense of every Catholic that wishes to worship while being prepared to defend their own life and the lives of their fellow Catholics. Evil knows no bounds and obeys no laws. No place is impervious to it, including churches. The many church shootings in recent years are undeniable evidence of this.

Please voice your support of concealed carry within Louisiana's Catholic churches. Discuss it with your family, friends, and clergy members. Let the Louisiana bishops know that their decision is unjust and puts Catholics at greater risk when they should be safest.
