I’m trying to help someone out with picking the absolute best AR15 that is the most accurate, will last the longest, easiest to handle, would last as a combat rifle, and just all around amazing! Let’s hear preferences, dislikes, reasoning for like or proven performance, and experiences. There is not going to be right or wrong here. Name the top, middle, and bottom of the list choices. I for the better part trust the members on this site to give their honest opinions. From the rifles I have seen on this site to some that have been talked about, I think we can come up with a good list. Maybe after you make a list, add your dream rifle setup. That part is for me lol. Let’s play nice and get those gears turning please.

Bout like a 9mm vs .45 debate … don’t feel like skinning that cat again lol

There’s many out there.. but for me above budget entry and below Gucci rifles so I’d be at….

    Bcm
    Geissele
    Daniel defense

lol, will these hold up to an actual war? Are these combat ready? I love my DDM4V7 without a doubt. It shoots smoother than anything I have ever fired. Would you take a Gucci rifle into combat? And no I didn’t do anything to my Daniel Defense lol. I slapped a TA-31G on it with the RMR dual illuminated and some KAC buis, with a velocity 2.5 pound trigger and called it a day. It shoots like a dream! The 14 years I was in the Army, our rifles were always Colt. Other than the occasional double feed, they ran pretty decent. They weren’t the most accurate things, but they made due to our needs…..

In all seriousness I would buy an aero lower or a bcm blem lower and look for a bcm blem upper since you get a bcg with it and then ch is up to you but radian has blem chs. Just a blem beast. This is the way if you want good but dont want to break the bank imo... Sons will also replace your barrel if you shoot it out. but will cost more than the blem way.

Aren't most AR15 receivers forged at only two or three places regardless of brand? I remember reading that somewhere. If so the only difference is the internal components.
You aren't wrong, there are only so many foundries making the parts. Barrels are a different story IMO. Barrel quality and the assembly process of the barrel to the upper makes the difference in accuracy. I think the manufacturers recommended here will mostly find a balance between reliability and accuracy. Sometimes (not always), you sacrifice one to have the other. Super tight chambers and precision CAN cost reliability. Uber reliability CAN cost precision. With that said, my most accurate AR is a 6.5 Grendel which does both well, but has taken some tuning to achieve it. That upper was put together by Grendel Hunter and I built the lower. Trigger makes a huge difference in accuracy as well. Mil-spec triggers make it tough to shoot tiny groups.

In this war your friend will be in. What's the terrain? What's his role? Will he have others with him? What will they be using? Is he backpacking it or buckled in protecting his base? Will he be in a frog suit and under water for any amount of time? Sniper? CQB?
He will probably need more then one AR. Because I'm sure he will be training for this war.. Id say that's any easy 10k of ammo used per year. So probably need to keep stock of extra parts.

Unless you mean prepare for war in that he will be sitting on his couch drinking a beer and mad because all he can find on Craigslist are transgender and gay men.

Reliable ARs are cheap and Gucci AKs cost an ounce of gold.
