I’ve gone stuff sack free and find my pack packs better.
I line with nylofume pack liner. Shove my sleep clothes and pillow in the foot box of my quilt then stuff that in the bottom letting it fill out the bottom of the bag. Sleep pad goes next.
Close off the liner.
Tent in next.
Food bag...
My hiking buddy has an altaplex. It’s an awesome tent. I couldn’t bring myself to drop 700 on one when I could get the xmid for 250. The weight savings just wasn’t worth the extra $$$ for me.
Maybe could justify it if I was doing a legit thru hike but just couldn’t do it for the week/weekend...
only advise I’ve got for car camping is I prep everything ahead of time and pre cook what I can. I hate spending time cleaning as it takes away from time I can spend doing things with the kids.
Chili pre made and frozen has been a go to for dinners. Didn’t see it mentioned yet.
Big Fan of the full size squeeze. Ditch the factory bags and grab a cnoc for dirty water and filter into a 1l smart water bottle
Killer free standing tent. It’s that perfect blend of ruggedness/weight ratio. I went from the copper spur to the durston xmid 1p (non pro) for the weight savings...
….. what time of year, where did you start, what direction did you go.
Heading out next week to hike it Sat/Sun/Monday morning
I’ve got the far out guide and probably will knock it out CCW starting at Little Missouri Falls. Really wanted to mock out the hills day one but I don’t think that’ll...
You mean you don't have a lighterpack link ready to copy and paste?!?! :biglaugh:
You guys hit the NOBO bubble? That area was pretty congested last time I did an April trip out there.
Depends on what you call old.
You have the original Boswell blaster then you have what was produced after the hostile take over and Boswell was booted, followed by what is currently marketed.
Warsport is now owned by ZROdelta who has gone on a buying/merging spree in the past 5/10 years...
Same ish driving time if you wanted to hit the AT approach trail.
Don’t sleep on the Pinhoti either. It’s relatively close and is a great hike in the fall.
