I have been picking up M38 K.Kale Turks for a few years and have the dates covered from 1940 to 1946 with a duplicate '43 & '45. I also have a ATF Turk and a Short Turk but, didn't have a 1903.
Well last year, over at Gunboards, a 1903 Turk came up for sell. Oldironsights, a friend of mine, saw it and gave me a call.
The sellre said it was no bueaty queen but the price was right. I contacted him and asked if he could hold it for a week for ne and he said yes.
Well as soon as I had the money in hand I sent it to him. He shipped the rifle right away. He sent me a PM with a heads up that he had shipped the rifle out and that he was also sending me a bayonet that he bought for the rifle, but it did not fit. How lucky can you get? A rifle at a great price and a free bayonet.
Well the bayonet ended up being a VZ23 bayonet, old but cool
And the rifle is just what I was looking for. She's old, worn and looks like she did a lot of fighting in her younger days.
