Up for sale is a my Dad's Ruger Mini-14 Target. If you feed it good ammo, it's a damn fine tack driver. Here are a few important stats from the Ruger site:

    http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=5845&return=Y

    Barrel Length: 22"
    Twist: 1:9" RH (6 grooves)
    OAL: 41 1/2"

Comes fitted with a Hogue Overmolded stock. Has a Bushnell 4-12x40 scope mounted on it.

Includes a factory 20rd magazine and (3) 30rd ProMag polymer magazines. Also includes original box, receipts, and manuals for the rifle and scope.

Close to $1,000 invested. Asking $800 with all of the accessories.

Finally did a breakdown of all of the prices. Don't forget to take tax into consideration!!

If you were to buy this *new*, it would cost you:
    - $850(+$76 in tax) for JUST the rifle.
    - $69(+$7 in tax) for the magazines.
    - $60ish?(+$6 in tax) for the scope.

With a grand total of $1,068, $800 is a nice break in price for a rifle that has a low round count.

    Bump for a Thursday!!

Mini-14's get dogged on the gun forums . I had one years ago and it ran great . I wish I had kept it .

I've always really liked them. I need to get one. Even thought about selling my SA Mil-Spec 1911 to fund one or trade for one. The target is quite what I'm looking for, but I would think it would be much closer if not as good a shooter as the ARs.

Anyway, bump for a cool gun.

IMO, a 16" AR and this Mini-14 aren't even in the same category. This is MEANT for long range type shooting, where the AR is meant to be an all around combat rifle.

Jeff on GunBlast did a test on this rifle, and was able to squeeze 5/8" groups @ 100yds using Black Hills ammo.

Also - the trade for the fish finder was absolutely hysterical. I met with a local BS'er and we settled on trading for one round of ANY caliber ammo. He ran to his truck and stripped one round of .380 from his little pocket gun, and the deal was done. Still laugh about it to this day
