I am looking for a rimfire suppressor host as await the arrival of my Spectre II. I currently have a 22/45 with the bull barrel (non-threaded) that is has ran 100%. **Dilema** It will cost me ~ $120.00 to get it threaded and will be an absolute tank with a can hanging on the end of it. I could sell it and take the $ I would have used to thread it and buy a 22/45 lite, however, I have read where some were having some reliability issues. I would be open to going with a Buckmark as well put plan to run a small red dot on the gun, not sure if that can be done as easily on a Buckmark as it can on a Ruger.. Thoughts?

I have seen a red dot on a Buckmark before so I know it can be done. I have the 22/45 lite that I run w a Specter II and a TBAC 22L-1. I never have any reliability issues. Ever.

I really like the Lites and will be picking one up soon. They are the perfect suppressor platform IMO, and even more so if you plan on using a dot. Another option to consider is replacing your bull barrel with a Tacsol upper.

I opted for the 22/45 in all steel and find it as nimble as I need. Not a tank at all. I too was concerned about reliability and the fact that I've never had any problems with any of my all steel Ruger standards. Also, while I was shopping for the pistol at, ahem..Interstate Guns, I handled both versions of the pistol and felt that with the short barrel, the steel version wasn't too heavy to be a deal breaker. Got a great deal that day too. Just sayin.
Anyway, after removing the barrel rail, the pistol feels real good with a suppressor and a C-more STS holo sight.

Never had a single issue with mine other than needing to "rock" the magazine once inserted to chamber the first round occasionally. I have a Spectre 2 and a Bushnell on mine. Great for backyard varmints.

I love mine! 12" steel plate is no problemo at 50 yards with irons! Talk about fun. I have a warlock 2 on that I use on mine. I also just installed the tandemkross bushing...those mags scoot right out like they should now.

I'll have to pick up that bushing. Their "slingshot" slide release would be nice to.

I have the threaded 22/45 and added a weigan tactical rail for an optic mount and also use a bushing. It doesn't feel to heavy to me, I would imagine if my gun was lighter, it would feel front heavy with suppressor

Can you post a link to the rail youre referring to?
