i am confused though, is this the original or is this the new and improved. i wanted a few of both for testing purposes.

The original mag was the Lancer L5.

I am selling their most current mag, the L5A. What I sold you was the L5A.

The L5A features, among other things, a more flat side reinforcement rib than the original L5 which had a large rib on the side that helped seal the magwell. Basically it'll go in a few more weapons platforms and works better in double mag pouches.

Personally I have and like both the original L5's and L5A's, since I just use the AR and don't use any mag pouches.

They do have another new mag in the works, the "Advanced Warfighter Magazine" but it has yet to be released.

Also I don't have any more L5's except the ones I use, but if you really wanted one they're in great shape and I wouldn't mind parting with one or two.
