I know it says s/m, but what size/s would you equate that to in fitted hats?

My normal new era cap I wear a 7 1/4 and I think this s/m flexfit hat doesnt' fit right...my friend also has one says he thinks it's supposed to fit that way to allow room for over-the-ear ear protection I'm not sure...if you would like I could take a picture with it on.

Nah, I got a small head, something like 6 7/8" last time I had a fitted hat. Is it running small or big?
