Monarch Green Box (Basically Prvi) on Sale at Academy @ 6.79 from 8.79. Went on sale today.

500 rounds for 169+tax...

Yes this is Brass cased

You do have to fight the sales reps at the front, at the gun counter it rang up 6.79 and the front it rang up 8.79.

Is this 9mm? Also, I have never shot the Monarch, but I hear that the green box isn't that bad. What is your opinion on it? I usually just shoot the Blazer for cheap target ammo.

Steel case Monarch is still 5.26

I literally brought one of each kind of .223 up to the counter and had the associate price check each one. This included Remington, Federal and all variants of Monarch

I've shot a few thousand rounds of the Steel cased (Barnaul) stuff threw some ARs without any ill effect. It is lacquer coated so a quick clean after shooting usually helps w/ the build-up.

But I will say, I would still pick up the Brass stuff over steel-cased anyday. Monarch brass is Pvri-Partisan, Monarch steel is Barnaul.

I'm about 90-95% sure all the Monarch/Prvi/etc are berdan. At least all the ones I ever picked up and inspected.

The box does not say, and I don't have a suppressor or I would. What sucks is I tore off the sticky price tag and the box is printed 3.86 per box... That means Academy is whore us with ammo that they have stock piled from over a year ago. I say we contact the AG's office.

Yeah, I remember getting it for that price when they first started carrying it. I bet that UPC under the price tag has some sharpie marks through it doesnt it? I tried getting it for the original price, didnt work, and sharpie scribble scratch shows up on all the boxes on the shelf, imagine that?

I just got back from Academy in Slidell, the .223 was NOT on sale. Had them scan it, check their computers, everything. Still $8.79 a box. They said different stores can have different prices.
