This course will be conducted by Dr. Ernest "Waffle" Ellender. Waffle is a first rate Combatives trainer and holds a Brazilian JuJitsu Black Belt earned from Dave Camirillo. The Class will be held in Houma at Evolution Training.
Guerrilla Ground Combatives Course will focus on controlling combative situations that include grappling. When distance equals safety, the dangers involved in entanglement with single or multiple combatants is significant. This course will present realistic techniques, training methods, and theory for increasing effectiveness in controlling these 'worst case' scenarios.
Topics addressed:
Stand up grappling (2 variants of stance into lockup)
Takedown into ground control
Ground control goals
Ground control 'do's and don'ts'
Reversing bad situations on ground
Movement, aggression, and initiative
Striking and transitioning to weapons while grappling
How to train movements safely
Equipment:
Standard clothing with minimal metal (belt buckles, zippers, etc.)
Wrestling shoes or barefoot style running shoes (Inov-8, 5 finger, soft sole, etc.)
Energy snacks
Water will be provided
We go cold on the range for the month of August because of the heat but that's no excuse to stop adding to your Combative Game. This is not a Sports JuJitsu Class. Being a JuJitsu Student is not required nor is the class unnecessary for those whom already participate in JuJitsu. This is a great way to train up for the Shivworks classes we will be offering in 2015. Price for the Course is $300. Register at: advantagegrouptraining.com
