Anyone around th nola area play? Seems to have caught my interest as of late. What are the better guns, are there regular matches, anything you can tell me would be great!
Great if you are playing with a group of friends and best indoors CQC. I have played both airsoft and paintball. If you have the funds there is no comparison as far as adrenaline rush it's paintball.
Airsoft Positives:
Cheap (compared to paintball)
Not too messy
Can be alot of fun with the right group and conditions.
Negatives:
Very inaccurate even at close ranges. (all airsoft guns)
Limited range (50' would be a lucky hit / 200' for paintball comparison)
Players will play on either because they have no honor or didn't feel the hit on clothing. (no marks on clothes/gear)
Outdoors accuracy is even worse with the slightest breeze.
Guns are plastic and don't hold up well to rough play.
Try it and see if you like it. Best of luck, wear protective eye wear and have fun.
Never played it but I used to play sponsored speedball a few years back, paintball command every so often has airsoft games on their paintball field, usually once or twice a month, check their website http://www.paintball-command.com/
As for the guns being cheap plastic, ive held some of the top of the line ones and their pretty well built, sometimes out of metal. If you have a chance to come to mandeville check out gunfighter paintball, they have been carrying alot of the new airsoft guns.
