I'm about to purchase a Streamlight trl3 w/ the C4 led to mount on my Glock 23. I figure the trl3 would fit the compact size better than the trl1. The TRL3 runs about $90 online. But are there any other brands that are better than the Streamlight out there?

Surefire would be the only brand that comes to mind. I switched to all surefire long ago after breaking a tlr-1 twice. Never looked back.

I have been using surefire since 1998 when I was issued my first 6p. My issued mp5 had a Laser Products forearm and my m9 had a m633r. I own no less than 12 surefire products including a x200. I also have a Streamlight tlr1 and there is absolutely no comparison. All of my weapon lights besides that one tlr1 are surefire. As far as I'm concerned nobody else makes em. You won't be disappointed.
