I am currently working out of Cameron La, and we get the American Press Newspaper out of Lake Charles out here. I notice they list what they call "Pending Obituaries." I find this a little disturbing, but I check every day to see if I am listed. So far so good.

Generally this means that they have confirmation of the deceased but not the information for an obituary. Usually when the list of pending obituaries comes out the next issue will have the full obituaries with the related information (CoD, Relatives, Age, etc..). I'm not entirely sure about that particular paper but this is the general idea.

That's quite a public service. Perhaps they could add a "Pending OWI Arrests." That would help a few folks out.
