I'm 20 at the moment (turn 21 in march 2011), can I take a class and start the paperwork before turning 21 or do I need to wait until 21? I know it can take a good amount of time for processing, so I was thinking I might start the process maybe 2 or 3 months ahead of time if possible. Thanks for the help!

IIRC (and someone correct me if I am wrong) but the class has to be taken at most 12 months prior to applying and the notarized forms are only good for 3 months.

Unless something's changed tmlowe is correct about the class. It's good for 12 months. I'm not sure about the notarized forms. In any case you can take the class and have everything in order then get the forms notarized just before turning it in at age 21.

Indeed. You can take the class before you are 21 and apply after your birthday. Course completion certificates are good for one year. Find an instructor who does not put an age restriction on the class. We dont!:D

don't get printed. your prints are only good for a limited time too before you have to get new ones. the only thing you can do ahead of time is take the course.

Get printed at LSP when you turn your permit in. That will kill two birds with one stone.

I haven't decided yet. I really hadn't started looking at instructors yet, that is what I'm going to start doing now. I'm going to look at Precision in BR first I guess. From there I'll see. I wouldn't mind doing a one on one or like a two person class as that would be better.
