    I am making this post more for an explanation than referrals. What is the idea behind offset vs straight mounts? Why would someone want one or the other? I have my eye on the Burris PEPR, which is an offset mount, but it just looks like the scope will be awfully far forward.

    For now this gun/scope will be used for target practice (seldom more than 100yds) and the occasional coyote. Thanks.
