Hey fellas, I'm looking for somewhere local that I can buy some steel plates. If nobody has any locally, can you guys give me some links for ordering? I'm up in forest hill near Alexandria.

Check with a local steel shop, they charge by the pound. The charge for cutting might be less than the shipping charges. You can always order from MGM, JAB Steel and several others. If your just shooting pistol rounds, then you really won't need AR-500 steel, just make sure it's 3/8" think.

I had some cut at Old South when my cousin worked there but that's no longer an option.
I've also bought some from Mitch at

Only bad thing about using <AR500 for (pistol) targets is the audible feedback when hit is not as great, making them not as fun to shoot.

http://www.bigdogsteel.com/ Used almost exclusively at K&M and CORE. They get the ever living hell beat out of them and last.

http://www.jcsteeltargets.com/ Jake uses his targets at several matches in the NW. I dont have a ton of experience but I did win one of his mini poppers and it has held up fine but I have not used it a whole lot.

http://www.lvsteeltargets.com/ I have a #18SC that I have been shooting at for years. Great product.
