Hmm..They also seemed to give Texas a free pass on their no open carry rule (briefly mentioned it, but that's all), and their rules involving firearms in vehicles (must be out of plain view)- yet they gave them the same rating as Louisiana in the CCW/Open Carry category.

Oh well....But overall, it's a pretty good list.

For the most part, it's okay, but I did have questions about some of the choices. I've looked at some of the laws for some of the states I travel through and I remember Alabama being a little more restrictive than LA.

The article said that you have to have a Trust for Class III ownership in LA.
    Bad reporting on that one.

Otherwise, I thought it was fairly good.

    NOLA/Northshore!
Most of these types of articles have a love affair with the desert soutwest. AZ will eventually become cali/mexifornia. Louisiana gun laws in my opinion are better than texas' in some areas, worse in others. I think overall the "freedom" index is better in Louisiana than elsewhere though. Sure we have our issues, but after having lived in 10 differant states besides Louisiana and the District of Colombia, my butt ended up right back here....

    Shreveport - or therebouts
In order to get good press in Guns & Ammo you have to be a sponsor. Why am I not surprised that they didn't do their homework on Louisiana? I quit reading that rag years ago.
