One time I was at this house doing some work I ended up taking a nap. Their teenage son comes waking me up bitching that I feel asleep on his bed and that he was gonna tell his mom. He started calling out for her... I finally told him his mom was right here... Next to me... If he woulda stfu he would a never known. Moral of the story is... Don't be a tattle tail or you might see your mom naked.

    Yes!!! Awesome!!! Lol

I thought conservatives stood up for law enforcement instead of trying to tear them down. How about giving him a pass since no one knows why he was sleeping. Some of these guys put their life on the line every day to protect others who can’t protect them self. Not trying to start any BS, try cutting him a little slack if you don’t know why he was there.

Saw this from my kitchen window a good while ago and snapped the pic from inside my home. Was just curious (nosey) of what was up so I put my dog on the chain and took her out for a walk inside of our yard. From what I could see from our yard, the officer had his/her head down and apparantely taking a nap/asleep. The unit has been there for over an hour now and no movement of the unit or the officer. I got a little bit more curious and took the dog out for a walk alongside the unit, and yes, the officer was alive, chest expanding and deflating, head down and definitely asleep. Yeah, I got the tag number of the unit. Our tax dollars at work!

Sounds like a post from a liberal democrat.

Having worked shift work rotating from day to night and back again sometimes many times per month I know first hand how tiring that most definitely is, not to mention hard on anyone.
Last company I worked for had a policy of 8 hours rest from the time you got home till you started up your work truck.
Now we broke this policy many times over but working 20 hours straight Though we would never get in trouble for being late after such a shift as we could take the 8 hour sleep rule and be fine.
On other times there was never an issue with a hour nap here and there while we were working extremely long hours on tough jobs.
Safety first when operating equipment, driving a vehicle or working in a hazardous jobsite.
I think a police officer has all three covered here along with working rotating long shifts.
Difference here is the fatigue did not cause a major accident, A nap that he needed ?? sure I dont mind at all.
Think of the mental clarity you hope he has when involved in any incident that could turn ugly quick OR being fatigued while driving. I personally have seen the effects of car crashed due to people falling asleep at the wheel.

There is a huge difference if this officer would be a part time employee / reserve or lab tech who takes advantage of the tax payers on a regular basis.
Getting some rest after long shifts wearing you out once in a while, no issues here with how much is on the line.
FYI those radios are loud as hell in the car so IF a call came in the officer would definitely hear it and respond.

My cousin that lived by me moved out state. So no one was living at her house here and I was to watch the house and cut the grass for her. I passed by and saw a white SUV backed under her carport. I backed up and pulled in and it was a EBRSO Deputy. I got out and walked up to his window and he was dead to the world asleep. I just walked back to my truck and left. I figured he could watch the house while he was there. I didn't care if he was sleeping but it's a dangerous thing to do for LEO's now. Too many out there that would do harm.

I thought about it but then I did not want him to know that I caught him sleeping on the job and retaliating against me or my family for what I knew.

I love how, aside from the assumption that he's out to rip of the taxpayers by being so tired as to fall asleep, that he's also looking for a chance to unnecessarily flex his muscles against anyone who he perceives to have slighted him.

Can you show us all on the doll where the mean old Trooper hurt you?

If this guy checking his eyelids for holes has your knickers twisted up that badly, post your address and I'll refund your nickel on his behalf.

Because he was wearing his uniform. ;) I dont approve of anyone sleeping on duty for whatever reason when tax money is paying them to do so.

He could have worked all night and then had a across the state escort detail and was resting on the way home. Better for him sleeping than getting in a crash on the way home.

I dont know the officer's situation and therefore I didnt report him for sleeping. I just think he picked a bad spot next to the main road and around many homes to take his nap. I was not the only person that saw him because the neighbor across the street from where he was parked asked me this morning if I had seen the trooper sleeping in his unit yesterday so, that makes more than one person that saw the event. Possibly even more in vehicles passing on the road may have seen it also. Knowing that neighbor, I can not guarentee that she did not report the event.

That’s not what you started this thread for, and it sure seems you are trying to now throw your neighbor under the bus. You didn’t get the reaction you wanted so now you “don’t know the officers situation”. Not saying him sleeping was right or wrong but, Come on man

Didn't take him long to say the officer was at a whorehouse all night or that he feared retaliation.

You dont have a clue why I started the thread. Unless, you can get into my head and read my thoughts. I started the thread to say I saw said officer sleeping in his vehicle and thought it was wrong for him to do so while on duty. And where did I indicate I was throwing the neighbor under the bus? I stated that she apparently saw him sleeping as well and by her actions in the past, I can not guarentee that she did not report the event. If that statement indicates that I am throwing her under the bus, then I am guilty as charged.

If I ever pass on the hwy, or any road for that matter and see a cop car backed in somewhere the only thing I’m thinking is…. Please don’t turn them Lights on, as I pass them up… and as I make it down the road I’m thinking , yes!!! Thank you LORD!!! I never think wonder if he’s sleeping or watching a movie… I don’t want Sombody who don’t know what I’m doing at work to try to pass judgement on me on how I should be doing my job when they don’t even know what they supposed to be doing let along me and my job lol…Just me though I’m prob alone in this one

You knew he was on duty? Maybe he just got done with a double shift, and was at the hospital all day with his sick kid or tending to his ill parents and was to tired to drive all the way home, instead of becoming a statistic of falling asleep at the wheel he became a statistic of a crappy cop… funny how that works huh… again he very well could be a crappy cop… but nothing like doing a good job and taking pride in what you do and Sombody who don’t know the kool-aid getting all mixed up in it and telling on you and having to defend yourself for somthing that isn’t the truth

The whorehouse statement was sarcasim on my part and I should have mentioned it as such in that post. My bad for not indicating it as sarcasim. The fear of retaliation for any minor traffic violations or made up traffic violations, yes.

You should have tried to sell him that 22lr pump you been having for sale for the last few months. I bet after hearing the price his ass would of been wide awake.
