I just submitted an ATF Form 20 via email. Has anyone done this recently and if so, what is the normal turnaround time?

Yezzir! Not for a few months, but wanted to get it submitted early.

I've never submitted one of these before. I just took a picture of the printed out form (that I signed) and emailed it to them. Should that suffice?

Unsure. havent seen it done that way.

I have on multiple occasions when I lived in Alaska.
Always call them when you have about two weeks remaining until your trip if it is still pending.
I’ve always had it taken care of within a business day or so when doing this.

Return date can be up to a year. I would think mailing it off and waiting for approval could take some time.
