I'm just curious about this no other reason. I was at shooters yesterday looking at kimbers and another guy walked up and was looking at 3" 1911. It took him about 5 minutes to decide on a 3" kimber tle and I noticed he had a badge wallet. While he was talking to the salesman he mentioned that his idea had the fed courthouse as his address and I saw his badge, it was unlike any other badge I had seen before. I thought he might be with the marshal service but that wasn't the badge. It wasn't a brass, or gold, but a circle with a white background and different colors, red and blue being the most noticeable. I didn't want to ask what agency he was with, but he wasn't discrete about working for the feds in some form. Just curious, could it be Homeland Security?

Like an air marshal? Why would he have his address as the courthouse on his dl? To keep people from knowing where he lives or is there another benefit?

That is kind of odd. Probably the same concept, but seems almost like more trouble than it would be worth, especially when trying to buy a gun.. Sure it is some kind of identity protection issue.

It could have been a member of the Los Zetas. Since they have taken over the city of Laredo and Oklahoma City (according to reliable internet sources) they have been known to use Federal building addresses as they have none of their own. The badges they carry are very similar to that you described.

Maybe a judge or federal prosecutor. State judges usually have a gold badge they can use to "take care" of certain things.

Now that I think of it, he looked like a person of Mexican descent. I was careful to be politically correct not to hurt anyone's feelings.

    Thanks for the answers.

It does not matter what type of vehical a person is driving, or what type of badge they have. If they flash a badge of any kind it is best to just submit. If they are in fact law enforcement you could be tazed or worse, then charged with resisting. Better safe then sorry.

Sounds like it may have been a TSA badge.
