    Good Day Everyone,

    Well I figured I would give a rundown of ballistic data for a few common ELR/HTI systems. They are in no particular order of effectiveness or usefullness.

    408 Cheytac
    416gr solid projectile with MV of 2900fps. This projectile is a copper/nickel alloy so it is not suitable for material neutralization.
    2200m is transonic distance with max ord at 2200m of 50.60feet and .75moa spin drift at 2200m

    375/408
    350gr solid projectile with MV of 3050fps. This projectile is a copper/nickel alloy so it is not suitable for material neutralization.
    2800m is transonic distance with max ord at 2800m of 87.35feet and .41moa spin drift at 2800m

    338LM
    250gr Lapua Scenar (factory load) with MV of 3000fps. This projectile is a thin jacketed match grade and is not suitable for material neutralization.
    1400m is transonic distance with max ord at 1400m of 26.15feet and 1.79moa spin drift at 1400m

    338LM
    250gr solid projectile with MV of 3000fps. This projectile is a solid projectile but has softer alloy than copper/nickel combinations mentioned above.
    1800m is transonic distance with max ord at 1800m of 45.83feet and .82moa spin drift at 1800m

    338LM
    270gr solid projectile with MV of 2900fps. This projectile is solid projectile but has softer alloy than copper/nickel combinations mentioned above.
    1900m is transonic distance with max ord at 1900m of 51.84feet and .81moa spin drift at 1900m

    338LM
    300gr SMK with MV of 2750fps. This projectile is a thin jacketed match grade and is not suitable for material neutralization.
    1600m is transonic distance with max ord at 1600m of 38.93feet and 1.93moa spin drift at 1600m

    50BMG
    750gr Amax with MV of 2650fps. This projectile is jacketed with aluminum tip. This projectile is not suitable for material neutralization.
    1800m is transonic distance with max ord at 1800m of 46feet and 1.96moa spin drift at 1800m


    50BMG
    Mk211 Mod-0 with MV of 2675fps. This projectile is used against light skinned armor targets. It must impact target at supersonic speed or RDX will not detonate.
    1400m is transonic distance with max ord at 1400m of 29.61feet and 1.75moa spin drift at 1400m

    50BMG
    M8 Armor Piercing Incendiary with MV of 2650fps. This projectile is 661gr and is used against light skinned armor targets.
    1500mm is transonic distance with max ord at 1500m of 37.39feet and 2.07moa spin drift at 1500m

    Just an fyi, as later stated a solid copper projectile is not the best option for HTI.

    Later, do you have the data differences b/t the different solid copper projectiles ie: terillium, berillium, ect?

    There are a few serious issues to be concerned with in regards to some of the other alloys we have been messing with over the last few years. They range from the following:

    1. Berrilium has probably one of the best section density to weight/length ratios BUT it in itself is toxic.
    2. Cobalt has to be one of the best length to weight ratio of center of gravity BUT it eats barrels.
    3. The "blended" alloys are in a class of their own but price pretty much cuts them out of the equation because the machines it takes to blend every batch the SAME is outrageous.
    4. Banded solids with the patented sacrificial band like what I am using in my new 375 SOP and my new 14.5 SOP is the best compromise between hardness, flight characteristics, barrel wear, and manufacturing ability.

    The future of projectiles is pretty much at a stalling point until we figure out new barrel alloys and technology...which is currently in the works.

    How about a post of barrel hardness for carbon and SS, & possible alternatives/additives ie: hard chrome, cobalt, nitride, ect w/ wear data for each?
