A grandfather in Bell, Fla., fatally shot his daughter and her six children before killing himself,
an official in Gilchrist County, Fla., said during a press conference Thursday night.

Don Charles Spirit, 51, of Bell, a small community southeast of Tallahassee, contacted officials via 911 and said he was considering doing harm to himself and others. When law enforcement arrived at the home Spirit shared with his family at about 4 p.m. ET Thursday, they found his six grandchildren, ages 3 months to about 10, all dead, as well as his daughter, Gilchrist County Sheriff Robert Schultz told reporters.

I'll never understand the mentality of someone who chooses to make it a point to take the lives of others just to turn and take their own in the end. Just save everyone the trouble and end it yourself if you're too much of a coward and selfish to seek help for yourself.

Not only did this guy kill his daughter, but his six grandbabys?? But wait! It wasn't his first time!! in 2001, he shot and killed his 8 Year old son in a hunting "accident".

Also, this happened in a town with only 450 residents... small town USA.

The daughter was 28 with six children... and it appears two fathers (3 children each). So if those fathers were active in their childrens lives, they are more than likely suffering.
