Just curious as to how many of you guy/gals conceal carry large weapons, such as 6" 357's/ 45acp full size 1911's, and or 44magnum revolvers,if so how hard is it and lets see pics if possible.

I used to carry a full size 1911. It conceals well (thin frame). Good holster and good gun belt and it will not be an different from anything else. I carry a G19 now.

I find bulk/width to be a problem more so than length. Just ask The Joker.

I'm 4'5" and 88# and carry a Desert Eagle 44 mag in a IWB rig with 2 extra mags and a cleaning kit -- just kiddin'. There are too many powerful small guns with adequate capacity for me to carry a big gun, even at 5'9" and 185#.

I don't even try with a big gun. When I pack my Ruger P-89 it's open carry only.

It's much tougher to conceal larger weapons. Also all CCW's are uncomfortable carry. (At least that's what you're told.) I carry lightweight 38 special revolvers usually because they are both comfortable in a strong side OWB carry and easily concealable. I'm mentally satisfied with my 38 special loading being able to stop attackers at least as well as most other handgun calibers. In short don't believe the hype that you have to be uncomfortable and need 55 rounds to stop every encounter.

It shouldn't be very long before someone comes along with the slogan, "It's supposed to be comforting not comfortable." It's good because now they've repeated the gun writer mantra.

When I first got CHL, I treid to carry a GLOCK 21. I am 6'1", 240#, and just couldn't do it.
A regular 1911 isn't difficult to carry. My late Father could stick one in his belt and go all day. I've never been able to carry comfortably w/o a good holster.

I carry a full size M&P .40 with no problems. I carry 3:30 with a forward cant IWB. On average, anywhere from 10 to 14 hrs a day. I guess what mostly helps is a comfortable holster and a stiff gun belt. I'm 5'5" @ 190.

I usually carry a Beretta 92 or 96 in a Desantis Cozy Partner (IWB). Holster is really comfortable, so it's not too bad even with a double stack full size.
