are the signs still up at the BZ?

There were a couple of signs on the road in but they were pretty much unreadable. They are bleached out by the sun, I mean totally white. One I noticed had actually peeled and only a small corner of it was still visible but not readable. My wife said she did read a very faded sign on her side the road that said "park is closed". None near the area of the range, but a few on the road to the boat launch.

I don't know but I surly like the place and at the same time don't want any trouble. I wish we could get some official word on this.

JTK There was also some ole boy fishing in one of the ponds on the way to the boat launch. So on the way back to the range I stopped and asked him if he was with anyone cause I was going to be shooting. He said no, he was alone. Didn't want anyone wandering out on the range just as I let the M4 go.

Also the Boat launch was empty. Not 1 truck or boat trailer to be found.

I drove around for a good 20 minutes looking for signs of life and other then the guy fishing there was no one to be found. However when I got back to the range there was 2 cars parked, so I walk down the hill and these folks had about a dozen assorted rifles propped on the log and a pile of pistols in their gear. So I figured after seeing that and reading one of the last post from 2010 in the other buffer zone thread (not a sticky)(claims a cop said good to go) then what the heck, lets shoot...

Like I said previously about 3 trucks passed, one stopped then went on.. No one came down the hill though, but cant say I blame them. Lots of rounds were moving down range. Ball park just under 1000 rounds while I was there, and I left before everyone else. It was around 5pm when I left...

So short or long, I have no clue.. Just glad I didn't get a ticket.

GoKill: To clarify, I said a cop told me it was okay at the pit on the south side of the interstate. I cannot vouch for the one by the launch.

I had to be a buzz kill, but I'd guess judging by the angle that y'all were shooting at the water that probably somewhere around 50% of your shots were ricocheting out of the pit, while theres not much around there it, really escalates the possibility of a accident when projectiles leave the pit. One of the reasons it was closed in first place was a total lack of safety.

First time at the BZ. We planned on going to honey island but ended up here ... I forgot to check the website. I also did not see any signs.
