Building a bolt gun

I want to build a bolt gun. And was wondering about head spacing. What are the tolerances for .308?

You will need a pair of head space gages. The difference between the go and no-go gauge is about 0.006".

Keep us posted on how it goes, I am currently in the process of building my first as well. I went with a Big Horn Arms origin action with a proof research 6.5CM barrel.

Wow man! That already sounds like a sweet build. Keep us updated as well. I'm just going with a short action remington 700 chassis with 26" 5-r barrel. I can find a in stock one any where. So I figured I'd give a build a shot.
