It is also a WMA for the last couple of years so it is out anyway.

starting 08/15/10, firearm carry will be legal on WMAs.

    SB534 (Act 790)
    http://www.legis.state.la.us/billdata/streamdocument.asp?did=722889

The new rules and regulations from the WLF have also changed:
Active and retired law enforcement officers in compliance with POST requirements, Federal Law Enforcement Officers and holders of Louisiana concealed handgun permits or permit holders from a reciprocal state, who are in compliance with all other state and federal firearms regulations, may possess firearms on WMAs, provided these firearms are not used for any hunting purpose.

You can carry in a national park. What a "federal" site is, I don't know.

    What is a federal site?

I guess it won't fall under the new parks rule?

If I'm not mistaken, that was a state legislation that only covers state parks. If this question is referring to USACE property, then it is not covered under that legislation. Being at work, I don't really have time to find the info to back it up.
