When you take the course, how long is the certification good for? My old boss wants to take the course next month, but I do not turn 21 until August. I know you have a certain amount of time to apply for the CCL before the class certification expires. I am just trying to figure out if it is worth taking next month with him or if I should just wait.

Certificate is good for one year.
Now that doesn't make a damn bit of sense. I have never known anyone's finerprints to change after 30 days
If you will be a first time applicant, your training certificate is good "forever."
If you are renewing your permit, your training class has to take place within 6 months of your renewal application.
And if you are renewing (in Louisiana) you don't need to get re-fingerprinted. You will need an up-to-date photo.
