ya so my bank just closed (and im sure im not the only one here who used them) ....all i gotta say is thank god for the FDIC. does anyone have a bank they can suggest? i liked the customer service they had since it was a small local bank. my g/f hates her bank (chase). so who do you use and would you recommend them?

i never heard anything about it (care to explain?). the FED doesnt let banks just close and fail anyway. they get banks to buy their assets which is what happened, they merged. First NBC took over all of their assets...........plus its insured

If I may suggest if you want personal service try a CREDIT UNION
I use Main Street Federal in my area. All decisions are made locally answers on credit matters in seconds, very forgiving folks too!!
Watch the TV commercials ther are spot on about credit unions....
My 4 cents worth (twice the service of the Walmart Like Big Banks) :}

I figured that was coming....surprise it lasted as long as it did.

I use Capital One because they have more banks on the north shore than most others.

I have used many different banks and have never been happier than I have been the last year and a half with Chase.

With a local credit union now, couldn't be happier, great customer service and refinancing my car with them was painless.

Try Regions Bank! I always get good service and they have a lot of locations.

whoa! I bank with them. I have checking, savings and a C.D with them that is up in Feb. Hope its not a Cluster F to get my money out

Hancock been very happy with them, they are in the middle of a merger with Whitney right now.
