Man o man ORF sent me a e-mail my cetme receiver flats are going to be here on the 19th tomorow. Now I can put that parts kit to use.I was thinking about using one of the flats and a pps-39 kit to make a mp5 clone that shoots 7.62x25. that would be a cool build.Ill post pics of the flat.

Are we going to have to start a thread for a build party on these?
You got photos links on the pps? I'm curious as to what it is I assume it is Russian since it shoots x25.

    The x54 or x25?

Where are the kits and how much would you anticipate the total cost when complete?
I want a MP-5 one day a clone at the right price that shoots cheap ammo would work.

I LOVE shooting the 7.62x25, but it is my understanding that due to all the bends in CETME recievers it's a B!TCH to bend it...

    Anyone got any experence/input...?

    Further problem:
Parts kits (I just looked) no longer come with Barrels due to those @$$holes at the ATF...

    Gatcha.

    So your looking at:
$150- $179 per CETME parts kits (Ment to pick one up back when they were $100)
~$140 for a ppsh-43 Kit that comes with a barrel

    and $9 mags.

    Anything else?

How much is the reciever flat?

Ok, you answered, so Just under $400...

Has anyone done one of these before, or is this theoretical?

Wow is that what they are up to.When I got my kits the cetme was 99 and the ppsh was 49.00 .This is theoretical but I think veary doable. When compleet it mite be found out that whole parts kits may not be nessasary.

Check over on the militaryfirearm.com website. There is a large amount of information on this as well as CETME rifles in general. It used to be the cetmerifles.com till a hacker hit it. Now they cover a huge amount of firearm related material but the CETME was the top dog there. The big problem you'll have is the timing since it's roller delayed blowback.

Any little thing that can change the timing will effect the rifles function. I've read of a couple of people who tried mods to the CETME which turned out to be crap. Put it this way - optimal bolt gap on a CETME is .012 to .014 and at this setting the timing works out to where it should be the lightest recoil 308 military rifle anyone will handle. My CETME is worn down to a bolt gap of .006-.007 and she kicks like a mule compared to other 308s. It's all in the timing and as you can see such a small measurement makes a big difference. I'm no way an expert nor portray one on tv. Ask the fellas at militaryfirearm the the straight up.
