CHP App Question re: 15 year residency history

In the process of getting all my information together for my CHP application.

Has there been a ruling or is there a consensus on residency when it comes to college dorms/student housing?

I didn't establish permanent residency in LA until I was 21 and got my new license. I would suppose my official address was still back home at my parents before then, but I lived in dorms and such from 18-21.

How would I go about filling out the 15 year residency requirements on the CHP application.

I would go with what the state had on record such as driver's licence and tax reporting address.

Drummy is right. If U changed your residency on your drivers licence then u would have an issue. If U kept parents address while schooling you are GTG

Out of state. Came to Louisiana to go to LSU. Lived and worked here for over a decade since.

What is the wording on the application?

"Previous residences – Complete this section if you have not lived at your current address for the fifteen (15) years preceding the date of this application. Attach separate page if necessary."

You could call LSP for a real answer.

Previous residences would include dormitories or any other places you resided. How specific you should be is up to LSP. Definitely call LSP if you have concerns.
