I'm not sure of the logic behind this. A kid shoots himself with the stolen gun his brother had in his car, so Tulane and the City of New Orleans want to give out gun safes.

SOOOOOOOO much wrong with that article. Julia Fleckman runs a lab researching gun violence, so why is she talking about this incident? This is not gun violence, this is gun stupidity. And it blows my mind that they're concerned about his lack of safe storage for his stolen handgun, not his possession of a stolen handgun. They'll go for a two-for with this, call it a gun violence incident to push for more possession and carry restrictions, and a safe storage issue to push for mandatory storage laws.
