Mine went up substantially as well. Even in the winter months when I maybe use the heater 2-3x just for 20 minutes to take the chill out. It was still high for my relatively small living space. They replaced the meters and came out and did re-reads as well. I'm beginning to think they were just so outdated because and not reading anything correctly and now we're suffering the consequences of it.

Expect there will be a lot of very unhappy customers real soon with this winter mix weather with record low temperatures coming in the next 2 days. Feel for those that only have electric heat. Just saw where temps will be back in the 70"s by the weekend , .... drill sgt.

I cut a bunch of wood last year and split a bunch of it a month ago -- fire place will be roaring today and this week!

That's illegal....some places in the US lol

Just for kicks I looked it up -- and you are 100% correct! In Kalifornia, namely Sacramento, "prohibits the installation of any indoor or outdoor, permanently installed fireplaces after October 26, 2007 in any residential or commercial building. Traditional, open-hearth fireplaces are no longer legal to sell or install in Sacramento County."
    WOW!!!
