Turkey is and has been the gateway from western to Islamic culture for centuries. The Apostle Paul also traveled through Turkey spreading Christianity before Islam was even thought about. Incirlik Turkey has been an important USAF base for decades. It has been used in the Cold War years along with a stop over for the sale of F-14 fighters to the Shah of Iran in the 70s. It is still an important base for US interests in the middle east. The present government is more pro Islamic than the previous administration (can you say Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt?). I believe the same power play by the Turkish Army is going on now that happened in Egypt to limit the power of the Islamic State within the country.

These are essentially the more moderate Muslims in a quasi-Middle Eastern state attempting to kick out the radicals.

I've been watching this too a bit. It seems as though the more moderate forces are overthrowing a more "middle eastern" regime. I hope stability comes soon as I'm sure some of our assets are located there.
On the other hand since our current dufus-in-charge is supporting the current president...

Question, who's leading the military that's trying to take over the govt?

Also, would this be a strong arguement for 2a but not only that, repealing the NFA rules. Considering allowing us to own what ever we want would give us the opportunity to be on a level playing field if the govt tried to go against the people?

In this case it was tech the police vs the rouge portions on the Military... so applying your thought there would mean to support the police being para military. Just saying
