I got these faux ivory grips for Xmas, and I'd like to salvage them if I could. They never quite fit right, so I tried to tighten them too much to keep them still and...POP. So really I need to know two things:
    1) what adhesive would be best to reattach the broken piece
    2) what could I apply to the edge of the grip that will fill in the gap and fit better

I would use PC Super Epoxy. It is a gel and is a lot easier to use than regular epoxy. I use it for most repairs plus in my wood carving and knife making. The only thing I have found to loosen it is high heat.

Any good epoxy should easily fix the broken piece. As for "fitting" them, Acraglass or a similar stock bedding product would work great. Put release agent on frame, apply the Acraglass to the grips and install them. Wipe away excess. Once cured your grips would be perfectly fitted and still removeable, as the Acraglass will be permanently adhered to the grips (especially if you drill a couple tiny holes to act as a mechanical lock for the Acraglass).
