DD214 CCW question

My DD214 is less than a year old
I've been back in Louisiana more than 6 months
My DD214 lists expert rifle and expert pistol


Am I good to go IRT the training portion of LA's CCW requirements?

You can apply for a LA. CHP without taking a class the first time and mandatory renewal classes every 5 years thereafter.

Thanks, that's how I read it too.

When I was stationed in Tennessee I had to go through their training course iot receive a CCW. I only took the CCW iot get a drivers license since they had reservations for CCW but not for Drivers license. At that time it was almost impossible to get in for a drivers license due to them issuing licenses to illegals.

Since you are not taking a class be sure to read the rules and the Legal Section pertaining to having a LA. CHP.

JBP55 is correct. I also used my DD214 just to get the process started and then took a class later. Nothing beats a good training class to learn the law.
