First she says "The Firearm Industry Fairness Act would mean that "the family hunting rifle is not taxed at the same rate as an assault weapon, and would ensure that the firearm industry, like other industries in America, takes responsibility for the safety and misuse of its products,"".....

What happens when the AR-15 IS THE family hunting rifle (eg Alaska)

Second these ******* idiots could do even the most minor bit of research before they make these bold proclamations.

"The federal excise tax imposed on the sale of certain firearms has not been updated since 1954 - "years before civilian automatic rifles were invented," according to the legislation. "Despite the continued killings of children, teachers, and families with these weapons, federal taxes on firearms fail to differentiate between hunting rifles and weapons of war like AR-15s.""

The Winchester model 1903 (made from 1903-1932) was the first commercially available semi automatic rifle.

They are clowns with barely double digit approval rating for a reason. It will be DOA in the Senate regardless, but it just shows their stupidity to the world., and utter contempt to the Second Amendment to the Constitution

That house oversight committee could not possibly be any more full of feces. You couldn’t find two pieces of truth in those statements to rub together. The only thing they’re going to accomplish is further punishing and pissing off we the people.

GM and Ford surely track how many times a defect in their product leads to an injury or death, but they certainly don't track how many times a DWI involves their product, and Dodge wasn't held up as responsible when that jackass in Charlottesville ran that chick over. This bullsh!t is only meant to burden the manufacturers and increase their costs of doing business to discourage them from producing what the people clearly want. They couldn't reason their way out of a wet paper bag!

It comes down to this, all these laws that these morons are proposing, that do NOTHING to stop criminals, will have unintended consequences. They set a precedence to be able to sue and hold accountable ANY company that manufactures anything, if it is misused in a crime! Cars ? Oh yeah! Baseball bats? yep etc.
