Thinking of buying a .45 carry piece. With so many great guns on the market I thought I'd ask my fellow gun geeks for a bit of advice. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated. I've tried a variety and don't find the recoil to be an issue as most people believe.

If you're only talking .45s, the HK45c. Pretty small, low recoil for a 45 of its size, dead accurate and reliable!

I've never fired the HK45c.... I'll have to see if I can rent one at the range to check it out. I was considering the Sig P220 compact. I friend of mine let me try his at the range and I was impressed with how it handled. Do you have any experience with the Sig P220 compact?

Kimber Desert Warrior... One of the early ones.
Ina Milt Sparks SS2, on my Sparks belt.

used to be a (Early again) Pro Carry, but with that belt and holster... no need for the lighter gun.

1911, I carry a gov length. It's thinner and more comfortable for me to carry than most of the sub compacts out there. I'm eventually going to build a officer model for this. Get a good belt and holster combo and the weight isn't that big of an issue.

About 5 years ago, I bought & cary a Kimber UCDP. It is a pretty gun, but, I'll never buy another Kimber, just not as well-made as many of its competitors (like STI).

    I also have a Taurus Millineum Pro PT-145, which I dearly love. Glocks (21 & 30) don't conceal well.

Dave, the ONLY problem with the Taurus is finding an IWB holster for it. Also, BigNick has a very good point, I believe it is actually easier to carry a full-size 1911 IWB than a 3" or 3-1/2". I can stick a Government model in my waistband, sans leather, and do prety well.

    (Breaux Bridge)
M&P45C with Apex DCAEK+Ram + Ameriglo Hack Style sights + Streamlight = WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING for.

I wouldnt waste my time and money on a 1911, get a new era combat gun and not an accurate range toy that needs to run clean to function ......

I don't think finding an IWB is the ONLY problem with a taurus ;)
