Anybody else got a favorite hand-me-down family rifle that's special to you? I've got a Savage 4c .22 bolt rifle that belonged to one of my Grandfathers. It can mix shorts, longs and long rifles, is in immaculate condition and is an absolute tackdriver. I just shot it again today and fell in love with it all over again. Beautiful wood underneath the original finish. I've thought about stripping it down just to bring out the grain of the wood but something's not right about that. It came with a 5 round magazine but there are 10 rounders available and I've got one on the way just for funsies. It was apparently made in the 1930's (before serial numbers) and I'm sure he used it to feed his family during the depression. Boy if that rifle could talk.
