I always thought it would be great to have a urinal in the living room, I'm sure that'll be vetoed though. It could be hidden between two plants.Put a urinal and water fountian in the shop/garage.

Spray in foam insulation.
Either that or run some pvc conduit so you can force wires through in the future.
I'm going to be using cinder blocks with rebar and filled with concrete and a safe door. Thanks though
-Add 15% on top of your budget for overages
-If you are interested in AV equipment, run lots of wire before the walls go up it is cheap. I would run at least 2 cat5/6 and 2 rg6 to every tv in the house back to a main can. On the same note, run cat5/6 to where ever you think you want internet. It is way faster than wireless.
-Lots of recessed lighting in every room, again fairly cheap to add before the walls go up.
-Spend a couple bucks extra on nice toilets(no flappers)
-under cabinet lighting in the kitchen/shop
I may go against the grain on this one, but having spent the money on spray foam in my last house, I don't think it is worth the extra money. My energy bills were still 400+ a month with Low e windows and a high efficiency AC system. I am in the middle of a complete gut and remodel now and I am going to use fiberglass and blown in insulation.
