After watching the douchebaggery out at the bayou country super fest I have come to the conclusion that anyone who wears the American flag as a piece of clothing should quickly be given a swift kick to the nuts. That is all.

To me, a flag is a flag no matter what type of material it is printed on. Red, white and blue is ok, but a flag bikini or flags embossed on the side of cowboy boots are not ok.

Flag clothing has become a trend and is considered the cool thing to do. Most kids think it is amusing.

I will admit, I do have a pair of American Flag board shorts somewhere, that I bought years ago, but I don't think wearing this is appropriate:

I consider this a show of patriotism.

I also consider the people that overdo it trying to be funny disrespectful. However, I don't see the problem in showing your love for your country.

did you mean literally wearing a flag as clothing? example?

Edit: pictures removed until I understand the topic of conversation.

Someone literally using a flag as a garment is so beyond stupid that I have to ask you to verify what I'm deducting from the words you typed. People do that?

I agree. Personally, I would not wear a flag t-shirt, but don't have a problem with someone who does. The Bedweiser photo and the chick are just wrong.

I have a sport shirt that is covered with series of pictures of various Harley-Davidson motorcycles, each depicted with the flag waving from it and iconic US highway road signs such as Route 66. Inappropriate?

I think that's A-OK. Wearing a budweiser American flag shirt, American flag shorts, and an American flag hat, while chugging a disgusting crap beer, is inappropriate.

I also think Budweiser using the flag to promote sales, is inappropriate.

This is the image I have in my head after reading the OP, however I'm sure it was more like the Bud guy....... Either way, it looks ridiculous.

I have a shirt with a partial image of the old flag with the circle of stars on it and part of the Constitution. I wear it once a year, on May 5. Wearing an actual flag as clothing, that is not right.

An old friend of mine actually did wear a flag like a cape while he ran with the bulls in Pamplona, and a picture of it was used on David Letterman. Patriotic? Douche? I can't remember how letterman felt about it.
