FMJ for Pin Shooting

This seems to be the never ending question and there is a wide range of opinion about using FMJ for pin shooting. I have found everything from "It will kill you" to "That is all we shoot no problems". I know several of you guys have shot pins before do you or have you used FMJ ammo and have you had any issues in doing so.

I am looking at this first and for most from a safety stand point and not performance. Pin distance is the standard 25 feet, outdoors.

Ive always used lead, 230 0r 250 gr round nose in the 45. It depends on the caliber. Ive never known anyone to go out and load jacketed ammo for a pin shoot though.

i've shot FMJ at pins before, i try not to do it bc of the $$ but sometimes i just dont feel like reloading.

you will be alright.. last charity match in thibodeaux 50 pins were subjected to 62 shooters.. no one was killed or injured. I personally shot CCI Blazers at them.

Every time I shoot pins, I just use my range ammo which usually consists of CCI blazer or WWB.
