Form 1 question

The form 1 asks for caliber and the state form does too. I put 223 on the state form. I intended to put 223 on the ATF form too but realized the receiver says multi.

If I put 223 and its approved and I put a 5.7x28 upper on it am I breaking the law?

Can I put multi? I am assuming that that would probably get it kicked back?

Also for intended use? Any legal purpose?

and for original manufactur do you just put name, city, state on the receiver or do you look up the full address?

1. You are not breaking the law by using another caliber upper. You can use as many uppers in any caliber that you wish. If you put 223 as cal make sure that you have a 223 upper for it. If you sell your 223 upper the change is permanent and you will have to notify ATF of the change by letter. I would not put multi as caliber. I listed 223 as the main cal and where it has other info I listed 9mm and .22lr as other calibers to be used. I did not need to put that but I did anyway. Forms approved.
As far as overall length just figure what size upper you want and go with that measurement. Other lengths can be used just be sure you have the original upper handy to show if that ever happens.

2. "All legal purposes" worked for me.

3. The name, city, and state on the receiver is all you need. Then in the additional info box on the state form put" that you are making an SBR out of this rifle".
