Like the title suggests, I'm looking to replace the stock forearm on my Armalite AR-10 (7.62, 20" rifle-length bbl)....Any suggestions on some decent set-ups you've had good experiences with? This is going to be a hunting rifle.....I'd like to be able to mount a hog light on it, so perhaps a quad rail would be the way to go? And is free-floating even necessary for the typical 80-180 yard ranges we have hunting here in LA? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I installed a Carbon Fiber tube on mine for $80 and love it. It came w/ an Aluminum Barrel Nut & probably shed a 1/4 lb. off the rifle. You can drill & mount rails on it for your light. I wrap mine w/ Camo self-stick tape for better grip & to cover the sheen on the carbon fiber.

The KeyMod rail is nice. I like that it feels pretty smooth instead of wrapping your hands around a standard rail. Mine is BCM, but I think there are a couple of companies making them.
