Lmao, the books are better, except I read them so long ago I keep thinking that stuff in the show didn't happen...time to re-read them all I guess... Considering it'll probably take him 6 more years to finish the next book... (Please don't take that bloody long)

There has been some discussion with George R.R. Martin about him finishing the series before the HBO series catches up with him. The last that I heard anything about it he claimed that he would. He's also apparently put the entire story arc in a safety deposit box some where to be opened the event that he dies before he finishes the series.

He's trying to be Tolkien-esque with the depth of the books. Doesn't quite pull it off, but they are definitely great books.

Read the first 4 books back in 2005/2006 while deployed (Amazon kicks ass with their APO shipping). I haven't read the fifth one and only own one of the previous 4. I'm trying to decide if I want to re-read them again or not so I can read book 5. However, I'm not certain I could handle the 17 year wait between book 5 and 6. LOL.
